Whispers Through The Rain

Echoes of the Canopy is an intimate exploration of color and tactile depth. This piece moves beyond a traditional nature study, using a sculptural impasto technique to bring a tropical thicket to life.

​Artistic Intent:

The composition features two stylized birds caught in a moment of mid-air grace, surrounded by blossoming flora. By layering thick applications of paint and carving into the surface, I’ve created a rhythmic "pulse" throughout the work. The background is a sophisticated, mottled wash of deep teals and forest greens, providing a moody contrast to the vibrant salmon and coral tones of the subjects.

​Collector’s Note:

Due to the heavy texture and raised surface of the paint, this piece interacts beautifully with light. As the lighting in your room changes throughout the day, different ridges and "carved" valleys in the paint will cast subtle shadows, giving the painting a living, breathing quality.
